WhenToClaimSocialSecurity.com (“we”) operates an educational Social Security break-even calculator. This policy describes how information is handled for the website.

Calculator data stays in your browser

Date of birth, benefit amounts, claiming ages, COLA, and other scenario inputs are processed locally in your browser for on-screen results, charts, CSV, and PDF. We do not operate a calculation API that receives those values. Share links encode assumptions you choose into the URL; anyone with the link can see those assumptions.

No account required

You do not need to create an account to use the calculator.

Local storage

We may store a theme preference (light/dark) in localStorage on your device so your choice persists between visits.

Hosting & logs

Like most websites, hosting providers may automatically collect standard request logs (for example IP address, user agent, and requested URL) for security and reliability. Those logs are not used to reconstruct calculator scenarios.

Advertising (future)

The site is structured so third-party advertising (for example Google AdSense) can be enabled later. If ads are enabled:

• Ad technology may use cookies or similar identifiers subject to provider policies.
• A consent mechanism will be required where applicable before non-essential ads/cookies.
• Calculator inputs, date of birth, benefit values, and scenario data will not be passed to advertising code.

Until ads are enabled in production configuration, no ad scripts are loaded by this application.

Analytics

This build does not include third-party analytics. If analytics are added later, this policy will be updated and consent requirements will be respected where required.

Children

The site is intended for adults planning retirement benefits. It is not directed at children under 13.
